PVC Foils
PVC Foils is produced by using latest technology and is used in manufacturing of interior and exterior furniture by PVC Foils, membrane and vacuum presses. Because of its thermoplastics structure, it is easily applied to the surfaces of doors, kitchen furniture with stylish and wooden appearances. Additionally it is used in wrapping profiles, skirting and interior Paneling.
Regarding surface, Turkuaz Décor’s PVC Foils doesn’t include cancer-causing ingredients, conforming to World Health Institute standards. It is a decorative wrapping material which gives good results for sharp edges and channels. Its surface doesn’t keep bacteria.
Types of PVC Foils
- 3D (three dimensions) membrane and vacuum Foils: It is produced in thickness of 200-500 micron (0,20-0,50mm) and in width of 1420-1450mm. Wooden, plain, fantasy, marble decors are available. It is used in kitchen lids, bathroom, cupboards, office furniture and various fields.
- Wrapping PVC Foils: It is produced in thickness of 200 micron (0,20mm) and in width of 1420mm. It is suitable for profile wrapping machines. Application fields are like profiles, skirting, borders, drawers, etc.
- Ultra High Gloss PVC Foils: It is produced with special protective, glossy chemical and proper lamination techniques in thickness of 300-500 micron and in width of 1400mm. By gloss meter it is more than 95 glossy at 60.
- Window sills and Profile Foils: It is Foils that resistant to outside conditions with high light-resistance and UV resistance in thickness of 200 micron and in width of 650-1150mm.
- Sandwich Panel Foils: It is Foils that resistant to outside conditions with high light-resistance and UV resistance in thickness of 200 micron and in width of 960-1150mm.

HOW TO MAKE
PVC glue is applied by the help of a glue tool on one side of MDF after it is cut in desired dimensions and engraved under CNC. This glue becomes active on 55 or 75 centigrade degree depending on its type. Glued and prepared surface of the material is faced with PVC foil by using vacuum or membrane presses. Membrane (PVC) mdf board are durable and very easy to clean. There is almost unlimited choice of color and models. Although in the market many alternative products exist, it is still preferable for final users.
|
1- First of all, one-side MDFLAM is engraved and cut in a desirable shape and model on a CNC machine or a nesting machine. |
 |
2- Then, modeled and engraved piece’s surface is smoothened by sandpaper. This is very crucial point, because it is necessary to make a good sanding in order to get a satisfying result. |
|
3- After finishing sanding, 3MDF lids go to gluing unit for the process of gluing their surfaces. Products are applied 2 level gluing and then left to drying process. |
|
4. a) When the glue is already dried, prepared mdf board are lined on the membrane press in such an order with empty places between them and then PVC foils are laid on them. Press’s table is closed completely, as it should not get air. |
|
4. b) After pressing process which takes approximately 7 minutes, our PVC foils will be faced on lids. Membrane press works in around 55 to 80 C heat in this pressing process. At the same time, applied pressure is between 6 to 14 bar. |
|
4- c) When pressing process is completed, unnecessary PVC foil parts on mdf board are taken off by knifes and then they are left to cooling.
5- Cleaning and rubbing phase: In this step overflow parts of foils on membrane lids are completely cleaned. Glues which stick beneath of mdf boards are rubbed. These things are done by completely hand in our country. There are some automatic imported machines in order to clean mdf board. However their prices are too high. |
In all these applications there are also some extra points which require attention;
- Glue also should be kept in room temperature (18-24 C degree) like PVC foils and panels. Otherwise, before application, it should be waited until MDF-glue-PVC foil+press reach to the room temperature.
- Before application, glue should be necessarily stirred and foaming on it must be prevented.
- Glues with double components should be used together with stiffener of suggested amount by producer. Stiffener makes chemical and physical connections stronger and more resistant to heat and moisture.
- Depending on the shape of MDF board, glue amount which is sprayed on it will differ. In deep rustics, comparing flat surfaces, more glue will be needed.
- MDF surfaces should be engraved by sharp knifes and should be sanded properly and kept away from dust. Additionally, MDFs should not be turned, roasted and moisturized.
